On the day in question the alarm was set to around 3am. The first aircraft blinked its way past my window at 4.27am. In the first hour they came in sporatically, and just around 6am was the busiest time with parallel approaches in action.
Friends were invited to visit me during the day, to keep me company but most importantly to brew me coffee and tea and cook me food. Boarding passes were mailed out a week in advance. The departure time and airline was tailored for each visitor to correspond with their designated arrival time. Some people were late though, and would have missed their flight under normal circumstances. Name and address changed on this one for security purposes. The title of the project used to be Little Guys in the Sky, hence the reference to it on the boarding pass.
Visitor instructions
You are hereby cordially invited to visit me, Christian Nolle during the making of Little Things in the Sky at the time and date printed on the front. Visitors are kindly asked to show up as close as possible to their individual boarding time. Please be punctual. If for any reason you are running late or cannot make it is of extreme importance that you notify me using a means of communication that you find comfortable.
Should you fail to notify me of your absence I might be upset and I might also be unable to have breakfast/lunch/dinner.
If you have been given a visitor time between the following periods you may be asked to cook up a light breakfast/lunch/dinner. Should you be unable, or lack the skills to put a meal together please notify me in advance so that I can reschedule your time slot to a less demanding one:
Breakfast: 0700-0900
Lunch: 1200-13.30
Dinner:1800-20.00
During your stay here I welcome you to make yourself comfortable. You are here primarily to keep me company or to go about your daily life. Read the newspaper, make cups of tea/coffee, smoke, tell me stories from the real world, make me some good food. The possibilities are endless.
When you arrive type in the apartment number and call. You may have to wait for up to 2 mins before I can buzz you up.
Upon arriving expect a warm welcome and hand over your boarding pass. i will thereafter officially validate your visit by ripping the stump of it. Do not feel upset that i cannot look at you during your visit. I have to look out the window at all times otherwise i might miss an aircraft or two.
It is important that you make yourself comfortable as quickly as possible. Should you at any point feel ackward or uncomfortable feel free to leave. I will not hold it against you.
Disclaimer:
Should the wind decide to blow easterly I will have no choice but to cancel the project and may reschedule it for another day. If this happens I will do my best to notify you in advance.
